we decided to meet halfway between her work and my apt. in a little town called roanoke. i had heard of twisted root burgers and was stoked they happened to have one:)
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm! |
twisted root lived up to its name:) i decided on a mushroom and swiss turkey burger with fried pickles, and it was delish! my only disappointment was that i was too full for a beer or shake. one thing that i thought was super-cute about this restaurant was that instead of giving you a number for your order, they gave you an "alias." I was 'my fair lady.'
i couldn't help but laugh every time a waitress would call out "niel patrick harriss and kim kardashian your orders are ready!" |
i failed to mention earlier just how cute roanoke is. this town cannot be more than 10,000 people, but the little downtown area we were in was just adorable! and it's still super close to dallas, denton, etc. basically the town has one main street consisting of various restaurants, with tons of outdoor seating:) there is an outside music pavilion where they have live music in the summer, and just down the street are a slew of the cutest old houses.
this is the cute little downtown area:) |
i am forever considering different towns and their move-in potential, and this one would be great to settle down in with some kiddos--one day:) i say that now but i don't really know if i could ever live in a town that small. i would love to consider myself a country girl, but i think i'm going to have to come to grips with the fact that i really am a city girl. what about you?
here's what i wore that night:)
everything F21 except for vintage mini featured on my etsy store! |
some of these pics came out a little washed out, but i am proud of myself for taking these all by myself, my first try with the tripod:) |
hope your week is going well!
1. I love Roanoke! Such a sweet little town. 2. The "aliases" are a brilliant idea!!! I would've love to be "jessie's girl" My fave song! 3. Your outfit is SO cute! I adore the pink and those shoes. 4. I need to add that glass to my cupboard ASAP. 5. I love your blog! :) :) :) Thanks for the sweet comment on mine!
ReplyDeletei worked a crazy schedule job, and it was nice, but also drove me crazy. i now work an 8-5, and have a short commute, and i love it. i hate leaving work when its dark.. But, if all of my friends/fam had random schedules it would be nice.. but i hate being the only one.
ReplyDeleteIm a small city girl. Not too big, (well because ive never tried it) but i want my parents to live in the country so i can take my kids and we can "rough it out" :)
best of both words
happy thursday!
Your photos are lovely pretty lady! :)

Mmm burgers. I love a good, random burger house. There's one around here called the Grazing Cow. Organic and all. But those name cards are hysterical. So original.
ReplyDeleteAnd I sympathize with your dilemma between city/country girl. I think I'm with you. Long to be country, but really think I'm city. :D
