since i have been house-sitting these past couple of weeks, i have had a lot more time on my hands. i have a tendency to be lazy, so i don't want to waste all this free time. here are a few goals i have made for myself this summer:

1. work out at least once a week.

i'm going to be honest and say that i am not a fan of working out. if i am going to exercise i like it to be something like hiking or dancing, but those kinds of activities aren't always the most accessible. BUT, the family that i am house-sitting for has a mini workout room with an elliptical machine and TV. so now i can get a 30 minute workout in whilst watching Real Housewives of New York City--schya!

2. sew something.
i always find the cutest vintage sheets that i would love to turn into a top or skirt.

3. bake something.
i love eating baked goods, but i never find the time to cook them! if you know of any yummy, EASY recipes, please let me know:)

4. start an herb garden.
lucas gave me an herb starter kit for Christmas. unfortunately, the herbs didn't do so well. they sprouted but soon took a turn for the worst. this summer i want to try again, but this time i'm going to start with herbs that are already full-grown.

5. start reading again.
i love reading, but you would never know it lately. i always start books and never finish them, which is so annoying! now to figure out what book to start reading first:)

i know these are not exactly mind-blowing goals, but i'm trying to be realistic and set goals that i actually think i will achieve. i'll keep you guys updated on how things go:) what are your summer goals?

  1. these are all great goals! let me know how the sewing goes. i got a new sewing machine for my birthday and have yet to even thread it!

  2. i do summer goals too. and they are pretty similar- nothing mind-blowing, but it's nice to have some goals. i am totally with you on the working out. i prefer dance classes or hikes and walks. i have to force myself to go to the gym and do the elliptical. it definitely goes by faster with the tv on. if i had one in my house and could watch some housewives that would be fantastic. and if you are looking for something to read, i am doing a book club with friends & we're blogging about the books. first one is called impossible:

  3. great goals - I really try and set myself goals through the year, rather than just one specific part of the year :)

  4. These are all great goals that are doable, and will make life that much sweeter. Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference. I love that!

  5. these are perfect summer goals. they'll better you and be fun as well! (well...maybe not the working out thing, but a tv in the room is always a bonus!

  6. i feel like you and i have a lot in common, haha. my summer goal is to stretch it out for as long as i can. :)

  7. Oh I love your goals! My goals are pretty much the same! That is awesome you have a little workout facility- def take advantage of it! And I always start books and never finish them...I've been stuck in The Host for like at least a year ha. Thanks for visiting my blog! I'm your newest follower :)
