I Do

this sunday, august 7, lucas and i will be celebrating our one year anniversary! time has gone by so fast, i can't believe it. in honor of our special day, here is a peek into the most wonderful day of our lives:)

i don't know what i am so astonished at, but apparently it was a pretty big deal. i had so much fun getting ready for the wedding. my bridesmaids and i got all prettied up in a historic house right next to the chapel. everything was antique and just lovely. there was no stress-- just music, laughter, and a couple of cases of blue moon:)

a peek into the chapel from the front doors. the chapel was an old-fashioned white one, the kind you imagine in the country, complete with wooden pews and a bell in the steeple.

listening intently...lucas's father is our pastor, and he also married us, which made it extra special:)

the kiss that sealed the deal! i thought it was so cute that the moment we kissed they rang the church bells:)

the reception was half indoors half outdoors. and ofcourse, it was suuuuuper hot outside since it was august. it did cool down at night though, and the lights on the gondola looked so pretty:)

instead of a cake we had cupcakes. lucas mom made almost all 300 of them!

my favorite part of night--dancing! my niece mia was my flowergirl. she looked so cute--i wish i could have seen her throwing the rose petals down the aisle:)

this is when it got really crazy...

on our way to the honeymoon! this is lucas's prized possession--his '73 orange vw beetle, his first car ever. it was perfect having it as our getaway car, although we actually had to switch cars halfway down the street. the beetle wouldn't have made it all the way to the hotel:)

it makes me so happy just looking at these pictures. my wedding day truly was one of the happiest days of my life, and i am so thankful to all of our friends and family, especially our church, who helped with every little detail, from the home-cooked food to the handmade decorations. it also makes me happy to be able to share this day with you, one year later.

and to the man of my dreams, i love you now, more than ever--happy anniversary!
