as much as i love Christmas, in a way, i am glad it's over. i am looking forward to the beginning of a new year. i mean how appealing is that? a clean slate, a chance to start over. i am craving that right now. so many times i feel like i fall short--as a wife, as a Christian, as a friend. can you relate?
so as i started making my new year's resolutions, the list got longer and longer...and longer. and i asked myself, am i really going to do all this stuff? and is all this stuff really that important? and i decided to cut my list short. here's what i decided to keep.
1. make God my priority
2. be thankful in every circumstance
3. pray continuously
4. love and serve my husband
5. seek God's leading in the everyday
as i think about the new year to come, i realize that i have the chance to start over every day, in every moment. in Christ I am a new creation and his grace allows me to be the person i could not otherwise be.

What I Wore: Keeping it 'Cazh'
let's be honest here. i would say that i only wear something worthy of putting on this blog less than once a week. this is an outfit i wore on a day off i spent at the coffeeshop, but even though it is supposed to be 'casual,' i still felt dressed up compared to my normal attire. i support the theory that anytime you wear any type of heel, you are dressing up. am i right?

i hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! i was blessed to be around lots of family and eat lots of delicious food. my favorite present was given to me by my amazing husband--a 'forever lazy!' it's basically a step up from a snuggie, which i also own, and pretty much the most awesome thing ever. it even has a zipper in the back so you don't have to take it off to use the restroom--ha! although i know some of you might disagree with me, whoever invented it is pretty much a genius:)

Merry Christmas!
Christmas day is finally here! i can't believe it. we are spending Christmas eve with my family in wichita falls, then driving back to lewisville on christmas day to have lunch with lucas's family. this is our second Christmas together. oh my how time flies! i heard this song on the radio, and, even though holy night is and always will be my favorite, this song by 'the good lovelies' is pretty awesome too:)

Mad for Mad Men!
so last week we had our mad men Christmas party. it was a total blasty blast. i love having people over at our place, and throwing parties especially. it was a good excuse to stock our bar, and it was awesome seeing everyone dressed up.
i loved turning our apartment into a mini sterling cooper--from customizing candy cigarettes, to finding holiday cocktail recipes. lucas shaved specially for the occasion, and banjo even had his own tie:) i kind of want to pretend i live in the 60's everyday, don't you?

My Christmas Wishlist
if you can believe it, there's really not anything i super want for Christmas this year. i already feel like I have everything I need. but...if I had to pick, I think these would be on the list:)
1. young frank, collar hammered brass choker
I'm pretty sure I would wear this every day.
2. thrush, moss circle scarf
i think i would opt for a different color, but this baby would keep me nice and warm.
3. audiowood, chipmunk turntable
why not add another record player to our collection?
4. sugar rose, tinted lip treatment
i wear this stuff like it's going out of style!
5. ikea, docksta dining room table
now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind having this table:)
6. chanel, peridot nail polish

Christmas Is For Friends
have i ever mentioned how blessed we are to have so many wonderful friends? a couple of weeks ago tommy, lydia, lucas, and i went and took eachother's Christmas pictures. i love being as cheesy as possible around Christmastime, and it just wouldn't be complete unless we had some awesomely cheesy Christmas pictures to complete my holiday obsessiveness. we took about a million, but here are some of my faves:)
we had to take the obligatory serious band photo and jumping in the air photo. i think they turned out pretty well:)
last year we went to petco and took our first married couple Christmas photo with banjo--he was only 2 months old! he had this cute little holiday sweater and he even had his own little individual photos taken. they were precious! i will even admit that i bought one of those make your own ornament kits where we made a little impression of banjo's paw print for his 'first Christmas.' embarrassing but true:)

AROUND THE HOUSE: CHRISTMAS AT THE CAMPBELL'S
i cannot say how much i love love love decorating for Christmas. i wish i could keep decorations up all year round. the apartment just has such a warm, cozy feel now. at night i love turning on the tree lights, turning on my scentsy, and drinking a hot cup of tea.
last weekend we went to the tree lighting festival they have in denton every year. tons of business on the square open their stores at night and make enough wassail for what seems like the whole town. did i mention that midlake and sarah jaffe played Christmas music too?
here's some pics of our apartment! this year i tried a couple of new ideas out i saw on pinterest--gold mason jars and a snowglobe. i also ran across some vintage ornaments at a thrift store to add to my collection. how are you decorating this Christmas?

WHAT I WORE: I'M BACK!
so i'm feeling a little bit better these days. i feel like i was having pms for three weeks straight, but now i feel like i'm over the hump. that means i'm back to blogging--hooray! yay! just in time for christmas:)
the dallas flea last week went awesomely! (is that a word?) i made a lot of contacts, and i feel like i got such a positive response from so many people.
here i am wearing one of the dresses i had for sale that day. i am so surprised no one has snatched it up yet. it is just a tad too small for me, but i wore it anyway:) the tailoring is absolutely amazing. i felt like such a lady just having it on.
